Why We Ride: The Heart Behind the Miles

Cascade Bicycle Studio group ride in support of Obliteride

Cycling has always been about more than just getting from point A to point B. It’s the early-morning calm before the city wakes up. The friendships forged over miles of shared effort. The sense of power in every pedal stroke. At Cascade Bicycle Studio, we ride for all those reasons—but this season, we’re riding for something even bigger.

We’re proud to channel our passion into a cause that matters: Obliteride, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center’s annual cycling event that raises critical funds for lifesaving cancer research. It’s not just about putting in the miles—it’s about making each one count.

Turning Passion Into Purpose

Every cyclist has a reason for riding. For some, it’s the thrill of pushing limits. For others, it’s the therapy of the road. For our CBS community, those personal motivations are now fueling something larger.

Take Ian, one of our longtime riders. What started as a solo goal to improve his endurance turned into a commitment to ride in memory of his father, who battled cancer with grace and grit. “I realized that the strength I was building wasn’t just physical,” he says. “It became emotional, too. Obliteride gave me a way to honor my dad and ride for change.”

Stories like Ian’s remind us why this ride matters.

Miles That Matter

Joining the CBS/We Ride Why Obliteride team isn’t just about fitness or competition. It’s about showing up—fully, intentionally, and with heart. Whether you’re logging 25 miles or 100, every turn of the crank helps fuel cutting-edge research and supports patients and families fighting cancer.

We ride to support progress. We ride for those who can’t. We ride because we believe in the power of a united community, moving with purpose toward something better.

Ride With Us

This summer, we invite you to join us. As part of the CBS team, you’ll not only get the thrill of the ride—you’ll become part of a movement. We’ll train together, cheer each other on, and celebrate what it means to use our love of cycling to drive real change.

Because when passion meets purpose, it’s not just a ride. It’s a revolution.

Let’s make every mile matter. 💛
